Ampelo — mobile vineyard log: photo records, GPS, and voice dictation
Part 1 / 4Château Cazebonne

The challenges: moving from paper notebooks to plot-by-plot management

What was done

Analysis of the estate's observation practices: who observes, when, and using what vocabulary. Modeling a reference system for phenological stages (budburst, leaves unfolded, flowering, fruit set, bunch closure, veraison, maturity, harvest) and a sanitary grid (downy mildew, powdery mildew, black rot, esca, botrytis) aligned with the winemakers' language. Design of a data model where each record is attached to a plot, a grape variety, a GPS position, and an author.

Client benefit

The estate now has a common, standardized vocabulary to describe its vines: no more vague statements like "the upper plot is well advanced." Every observation becomes structured data, comparable over time and between plots — the foundation for true phenological and sanitary management, without changing field habits.
