How to check for free whether ChatGPT cites your brand: a guide to GEO Radar

Your customers ask ChatGPT. GEO Radar, a free tool, checks in minutes whether your brand is cited. How to run it and read the results.

Your customers are already asking an AI

Before comparing vendors or products, some of your customers no longer go through a Google results page. They ask ChatGPT or Gemini, and read a written answer that cites a few brands and ignores others.

If your brand doesn't appear in that answer, you're not on page two: you're nowhere. And you don't see it in your usual tools, since there's no click or impression to measure.

That's what GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is about: making sure AI engines know your brand, understand it, and cite it when the question concerns you.

The first step is knowing where you stand. That's what GEO Radar, Good Morning AI's free tool, is for.

What GEO Radar measures

GEO Radar asks ChatGPT and Gemini questions that users really ask, then checks whether your brand appears in the answers. Specifically, the tool provides three things:

  • a full scan: 24 questions across 6 personas, meaning 6 profiles of people likely to look for what you sell;
  • a benchmark: your presence compared with that of the leaders in your market;
  • a GEO action plan: concrete recommendations to gain visibility in AI answers.

The scan is free, requires no account, and takes 3 to 5 minutes. The full report is sent to you by email.

What it doesn't measure

An honest tool also states its limits. GEO Radar's come mostly from the nature of AI engines.

Answers vary from one run to another. Ask ChatGPT the same question twice and you won't get exactly the same answer. The brands cited can change from one try to the next, depending on the wording, the timing, or the model used.

It's a snapshot, not tracking. The scan shows the situation at the moment it runs. It doesn't tell you how it changes over time.

It's not a guarantee. A good result doesn't ensure you'll be cited tomorrow, and a poor result doesn't mean you're missing from every possible answer. 24 questions give a solid trend, not absolute truth.

So use the scan as a starting point: it shows where to look, not a final grade.

Running a scan, step by step

You launch the scan from the GEO Radar page. Allow a few minutes.

  1. Open the GEO Radar page. No account to create, no login.
  2. Fill in the information requested by the form, then click "Run my scan".
  3. Launch the scan. The tool queries ChatGPT and Gemini on the 24 questions. Allow 3 to 5 minutes.
  4. Get the report by email. Keep it: it will serve as your baseline if you run another scan later.

One tip: choose your competitors or reference market carefully, if the tool asks for them. A benchmark against players that aren't really your competitors gives a misleading reading.

Reading the results

Read a report from four angles.

Presence. Is your brand cited, and on what share of the questions? That's the baseline indicator. Look at it engine by engine: it's common to be visible on one and absent from the other.

Rank in the answer. Being cited first or fifth in a list doesn't have the same effect. A brand mentioned at the end of an answer, or "among others," remains barely visible.

Competitors cited. Who shows up in your place when you're absent? These are your real competitors in AI answers, and they're not always the ones you'd expect.

Sources. What do the AI engines rely on to answer? Your site, directories, comparison pages, the press, forums? That shows you where to act.

Also read the results by persona. A brand can be well cited for one buyer profile and invisible for another, which tells you which content is missing.

What to do next

The report's GEO action plan gives recommendations specific to your case. In most situations, they fall into three levels.

Quick wins on your site

Start with what you control:

  • a page that clearly states what you do, for whom, where, and at what price;
  • explicit answers to the questions your customers ask, in FAQ form;
  • consistent information everywhere (name, offer, area, contact details);
  • pages that crawlers can read, with no essential content hidden behind a script.

AI engines more readily cite what they can understand effortlessly.

Third-party sources

AI engines don't rely on your site alone. They cross-check what others say about you: business directories, comparison sites, press articles, reviews, partner pages. If the sources cited in the answers don't mention you, that's where you need to be present.

A full audit, if needed

When the gap is large, or you don't know where to start, an audit goes further than the scan.

Free scan or audit: how to choose

The free scan is enough if you want a first assessment, to check a hunch, or to convince leadership that the issue exists. It's also enough if your results are already good and you're just looking for points to watch.

The audit becomes useful when:

  • your brand is largely absent while your competitors are cited;
  • you need to prioritize a budget and justify your choices;
  • your site, offer, or market is complex (several product lines, several countries, several audiences);
  • you want a detailed plan, not just leads.

At the end of the GEO Radar report, we offer the Performance AI Audit: from €1,000 excl. VAT, delivered in 8 to 10 days. The audit tests 200 priority queries across five AI engines, each repeated 3 to 5 times, with your competitors in the same test. It provides a measurement baseline, an action plan ranked by revenue at stake and three revenue scenarios.

Key takeaways

Finding out whether ChatGPT cites your brand takes no budget and no account: a few minutes are enough. The scan doesn't replace a strategy, but it tells you where you stand, who's cited in your place, and where to start.

Run your free scan on GEO Radar. If the report shows a gap you want to close, then take a look at our Performance AI Audit.

Frequently asked questions

Is GEO Radar really free?

Yes. The scan is free, with no login, and the report is sent by email. The Performance AI Audit, offered at the end of the report, is a separate paid service, from €1,000 excl. VAT.

Why do my results change if I run the scan again?

Because AI engines don't always give the same answer to the same question. The scan is a snapshot at a given moment: compare trends, not exact numbers.

Which AI engines are tested?

The scan queries ChatGPT and Gemini, with 24 questions across 6 personas. Perplexity and Google AI Overviews are not part of the scan.
